Hi,
I'm a newbie to this site but not new to old CPUs.
Over the years I have purchased and obtained numerous old SBC and other systems. I got them to program and modify, and as a part of this I also purchased various chips, mainly for support/maintenance.
I now have a few boxes of older CPUs, memory and peripheral chips, but not sure if there is anything rare. I am going through the various posts to see what is regarded rare or not.
The SBC I own are loaded with numerous older CPU, and some are ceramic (ie 8080. 8085, SC/MP, etc). And I have enough parts to build quite a few systems based on 8080/85/86/88, 6502, 6800/02/09, 68k, SC/MP, Z80 and 2650 systems - plus many of their associated support chips.
So, while I am not a chip collector, over time the various SBC and other stuff has come with different chips which may be regarded as rare etc. I will check out a bunch of my stuff over the next few days and see if there is anything interesting.
I like my chips to be operational, which means my SBC all work - and if they don't I have the tools and workshop to diagnose and fix.

Great and welcome. Please post pics if you can and if you are in market to sell anything put it in the 'For Sale" part of the forum.

Yes, I took some pics this evening. I don't think there's anything real exciting. Though there's a couple of ceramic chips.
On a NSC BLC8010 SBC with a white ceramic 8255 with the following stamped on the gold square lid... 745 INS8255D C8255. It has a purple ceramic 8080 with a gold top and a gold link going up towards the top (ie pin 1 but near the centre of the chip) with "934 INS8080AD C8080A" stamped on the gold lid.
Got an Intel SBC80/10 with a pair of white ceramic C8255, C8080A and C8251 chips. 8255 have 0139A stamped on them, the 8080 has P5611 stamped on it, and the C8251 has P1172 on it. This board also has the purple ceramic C2111-1 RAM chips with "S1542 031A1" stamped on them.
Also got an SDK85 with a plastic P8085 stamped with "5300A".
I will upload the pics later. I took them on my phone and it takes a while to upload the pics and it is late, and time for my beauty sleep. |

Those would make you some pocket money for sure. Look on eBay - example purple C2111-1 is $50 bucks or thereabouts. _________________ best rgds.

| They are soldered in place, along with all other chips except the 8080. Also it's a working board, as I developed my 8080 Monitor on it, and I have a bit more to do on the software. |

There are collectors here that like to buy complete, working boards and systems. Probably won't pay as much as on eBay though. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I love them all! My background is board level repair and digital electronics. I cut my trade on 8080/85, Z80, 6800, 2650 and SC/MP systems, and Data General Nova-2 and Nova-3 minicomputers.
Alas, there's not much money in that sort of work so I moved on in the IT industry, but I still repair, modify and build systems on those processors.
As such, I have a small workshop at home with all the necessary equipment to keep fooling around with this stuff.
I got a few ideas on what use I can put some of these old SBC to work, and although this is ostensibly a CPU collector's site, if you want pics of these old steampunk girls strutting their stuff, let me know.
