Gold Plating

HI - I have a few really nice NOS chips but they have the BLOD problem... Black Legs Of Death. Of course there are many ways to clean them and that is fine but even after cleaning they have damage to the plating. has anyone tried re-plating the legs? I know there are plating "kits" to allow plating of other items- has anyone tried these on chips yet? I know they use electrolysis and this would more than likely damage the electrical operation of the device though...
