Franz,

Does it mean that very soon your website will be completely operational?
Do you plan to provide non-Java based navigation on the website?

Thanks,
Franz

Franz,

Java-based navigation is not the best choice because if visitor's broswer does not suppport java, or does not support java properly, or has java disabled the visitor cannot navigate your site at all! HTML navigation is the best as it is supported by all browsers. If desired you can add javascript code to change buttons (highlight them do something else) when the mouse cursor moves over them. The good thing about this - visitors can still navigate your website even if javascript is disabled in their browsers. Some commercial HTML editiors can generate that javascript code - for example Dreamweaver, Adobe GoLive, maybe MS FrontPage. There are also javascript menus, for example this one (uses javascript + DHTML):

Of course, all of this is my personal opinion.

I have Java and JavaScript disabled as most Java/JavaScript "enhancements" go on my nerves and/or may be a security problem. using Java Applets makes the site quite slow as most applets are quite large. In addition I still don't trust any M$-based scripting and VM.

I think Java and JavaScript should be used for enhancements like highlighting or checking forms before sending or a "who's online"-app etc... but should never be necessary to use the site.

Just my 2c

Hi!

I did work a lot on my website. You can also switch to a Java - free version of my website. At the moment you will find high resolution pictures of all my Intel 4004, 4040 and 8008 CPU's on my website.

I hope you enjoy my new website,
Franz

I think this is much better. Adding javascript menu made navigation very easy - I like it a lot. And, of course, your collection of 4004-8008 processors is very impressive. One small correction to the text on your website - when you mentioned "NON-JAVA" and "JAVA" versions of your website you probably meant "NON-JAVASCRIPT" and "JAVASCRIPT".

Now I can correct "Links" section on my website - I will do that as soon as I move my collection from my home page to another domain. And I'm sure you will never guess what is the name of that domain Smile

Franz,

Cool! And your D8080A-1 doesn't have copyright, so it's an early version of the chip. If you have another one I can trade it for D8080A-2 without copyright Smile

Hi Gennadiy,

Sorry I have only one without copyright. Perhaps you find something else in my tradelist.

I like your new website! I have a problem with my guestbook. Do you know something about php?

Have a nice day,
Franz

I don't know a lot about PHP, but I can try to help. I know perl a little and this should not be very different from PHP. What is the problem with your questbook?
