So.. here are 2 Pentium Pros ..they look different, so , at least one is fake.. which one?

i would go for the right one (to be fake) due to kinda strange font on the back and because all the SL22Z that i saw have only one row of text on top ... am i right?

So, from a collector's point of view, it would've been worth more if not remarked? Laughing

Yes. Many nice rare chips have been faked into much less rare chips!

In what manner is this processor fake? Who manufactured these? Are these fakes working? Are they scrapped by Intel and picked up by some shady agent in the factory and sold on the black market? Or are they just mockups, dummies? How does this business work?

i think that is just about to buy 166 Mhz cpu for "x" USD , remark it as 200 Mhz and sell it for "2x" USD ...

Yes, they are genuine chips nade by Intel. They are bought cheaply, then the markings are ground off or painted over and then they are remarked as faster chips and sold for a healthy profit. They work, but are more likely to be unstable as they are running faster than their certified speed.
