Using a lower spec cpu on my Alienware laptop 2960XM

Hi,

I have an Alienware laptop with the following faulty cpu PROCESSOR : INTEL CORE I7 2960XM WITH OV.
The tag is DWKP6R1

Laptop out of warranty.

At the moment I cant buy the replacement cpu (£££) but I am looking to see if I can put a lower spec cpu. something like an i3 or i5.

Performance is not paramount at present and in the future will buy a faster cpu.

Can anyone tell me which cpu's will work.
A link to a couple of examples on ebay will help greatly

Thanks for the response but what I am after is lower spec/cheaper cpu's.
