I'm knee deep in some bookkeeping and I have to finish that before I can take some time to photo CPU:s. I will be back with pictures of the following CPU:s
PPro : SY031, SY039, SY040, SU104, SL22S
Pentium : A80501-60 SX753
Mister_rf, you won the first auction of SY002. I'll put it away for you.
For SU103 we got three bidders on two CPU:s, The CPU Hunter have the leading bid on $30 and have the first pick if he wins. At $25 we have two bidders but as mister_rf made the first bid at $25 he will get the second CPU. The bidder via PM is out right now. The auction restarts with 24 hours until closing from this post.
Phew... I have to rethink my strategy and go to a sale / offer model in my later sales and only auction out the really rare ones. this takes some work.

I don't mind perpetual auctions as long it means I get more paid in the end. Wink
If it becomes a problem then I'll set a minimum increase. Without making a strict rule I would think around 5% increase is reasonable, see it as a recommendation, not a strict rule. I don't like to change the rule book when the game is in play.

So let's considering the maximum bid, and the 5% increase,
I will make a new bid on the SU103
$32 * 1.05= $33.6

Aww, you got me there! I don't really know what's usual here, I'm just a guest in your community so I try to adapt and not break any rules.
And this auction worked so well until mister_rf started to follow the rules! 
It reminds me of the time I got beaten by 13 cents on a bid at around $1300 dollar. I had calculated the reasonable price and it came down to $1337.73 but I wrote $1337.37 and another bidder had put in $1337.50! This was sniping and the bid at the time we both made our bids was around $400.

Just got another bid via PM, $36 on the SU103.
I'm done cooking the books of my company so I'll add some more pictures after I've updated the first post.

As promised, pictures of the following CPU:s are up now. I have made links to the pictures (hosted on my server to not bog down the forum) is in the first post. I'll add more pictures over time.
PPro : SY031, SY039, SY040, SU104, SL22S
Pentium : A80501-60 SX753
mister_rf made an even bid of $38 for the SU103 and just as quick I got a pm with $41 as bid. Currently we got PM in the lead, mister_rf second and The CPU Hunter still chasing the tail
The auction for the SY039 is also active, but the bidder have the right to retract the bid as it was done before pictures were up and there is a pin missing.
The auction restarts as usual with 24 hours until closing from this post. |

I have gone through all the posts now and also started auctions for SU104 and Pentium SX753.
24 hours and counting...
I think I have all bids in now, all image requests and started all auctions that needed starting. If you miss something, let me know. |

The PPro SY031 and SY040 look very fine.
I offer 30 USD for any of the two SY031 and 35 USD for the SY040.

I think there might be another rule we need to apply.
- If more than one bidder is bidding on multiple objects then the winner gets to pick one or more CPU:s at that price. Runner up is not bound by the bid and can decline buying one of the CPU:s after the auction finish. If any one declines to buy the cpu:s then the auction is restarted.
The reason is if there a super fine and one damaged CPU, then the second bidder should not be forced to buy the damaged one. He might if he would like to though.

Our long time favorite and recurring auction of SU103 got another bid via PM during the night. We now have two bids at $41, mister_rf is out at $38.

Bids updated on SU103.
I've added a few more pictures and more is coming as soon as I get the thermal paste off them. I'm not putting dirty CPU:s on my scanner.
And it's time to close a couple auctions...
Pentium SX753 won by mister_rf at $25
PPro SY031 won by The CPU Hunter
And a couple of more closes down in a few hours.
I'm sorry to hear you don't like this type of auction, Misha. It's a bit of an ongoing experiment for me and it's a bit messy. With hindsight I could have handled it better. I have learned a lot from it and I think I will do things a bit different in the future. I've also learned quite a bit about the valuation of CPU:s and I feel more confident to run an offer sale in the future. I'm always open for suggestions for how to run an auction here instead of going via eBay.
I'm a collector myself and I know how things can get hectic bidding when supply is less than demand. I wish I had another SU103...  |
