Anyone else taken aback by PM public auctions here?
Why not sell on ebay where that is the accepted format?
I may be the only person here who finds it unseemly but
maybe I'm not. I personally won't run one here. I have run
PM silent auctions where those who chose to PM a bid were
given one chance to make their best offer with a specific
cut off time and date for the close of offers. Then the
results of the high bidders were made public.
Anyway, this thread may be edited but at least I expressed
an opinion for what it may be worth. |

Fully agree with you.
The idea of competition between forum members is not good with me.

| I'm not packing the fattest wallet so auctions in general suck for me. |

Hidden auction is not a good way in any way, it's a system without any transparents.
If we want an auction-system, then an open like a bidding thread, so everyone can follow the bids.
Everything else is like "maybe I get more than expected ... and if not, I don't have to sell, nobody knows the max bid" |
