| Correct. But there was a rumour going around years back that AMD got lazy with the 16KB version of the DX4. Rather than making a totally new chip, they just relabeled some 5x86 chips. |

| Great, thank you for testing. This means that to run an AMD Am5x86 at 166 MHz (2x66), you need to use a late production DX2. |

Yes, that was actually a problem for me, since I wanted to simulate a DX2 16kb and instead ended up having yet another DX5  |

That's something I didn't know. I thought you could set any multiplier you wanted to. So some chips are limited to 2x or 3x and others to 3x or 4x? What happens if you have a 3x or 4x DX4 and you set the motherboard to run at 2x 50Mhz? _________________ General failure reading disk in drive A

There is only one pin to select multiplier,
so if the chip can e.g. x3 and x4 it is not possible to set anything else. |
