I have 2 questions;
1) Can anyone help me correctly ID these I just have them all listed as RT620 but they are clearly different.
2) Is there any other know variants?
I'll take any other info on these chips as well. |

You'll find useful info at http://mbus.sunhelp.org/modules/
There's four CPU die versions: RT620A, RT620B, RT620C and RT620D that are HyperSPARC I, II, III and IV respectively. Those dies have their type etched on die with quite large size like you'll see in my RT620B die shot
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ross_hyperSPARC_RT620B_CPU_die.JPG. Thus, you can identify them if you can magnify them enough to read that text. RT620D is almost square and very different, so you don't have any HyperSPARC IV there, but others are too similar to identify from your photo.
Then there's two cache controller types: RT625 and RT626. Those dies are clearly different and easy to identify. Your top and bottom ones have RT625 that supports only up to 256 kB L2 cache, and your middle ones have RT626.
Then there's two cache die types: 64 kB RT627 and 128 kB RT628. Looks like your bottom one has RT627 cache dies and others have RT628, so top and bottom ones have 256 kB, left one 1 MB and right one 512 kB L2 cache.
I hope you could take better pics or even die shots of those. |

So that's the best I can currently do with the stuff I have.
So now I know I have 3x C and 1x A
So if I was to guess do I have a 1M, 512k and 256k RT620C? |

Yes, you have three cache sizes for RT620C there.
Those would give nice die shots of all HyperSPARC chips except RT620D with proper macro photography equipment. One option to get all the die shots is to send your RT620A and 512k RT620C me or to AVICC so that I could take die shots of RT620A, RT620C, RT626 and both cache chips. I could then return them together with my flip-chip version (in great condition) and open RT620B (with some damage from opening). That could give us all almost complete set of die shots and two missing versions to your collection. |
