My question is:

does the Pentium 3 CPU support RDRAM ?
I think Rambus was insert with the Pentium 4.

Wrong. Not the CPU supports the RAM, but the chipset! I have a Dual P3-533 EB running with RDRAM.

Really, Well, thats a clip round the ear for my tech support guy who is here. He said P4 only for sure.

What chipsets is RDRam supported by then?

LOL. Your both P3-550EB working here with RDRAM. There are even two graphiccards with RDRAM (CL-GD5462 and 5465). For example the i840 is a Slot1 / Socket 370 chipset with RDRAM support.

I remember seeing Pentium III systems with RDRAM. Evil RAM type Twisted Evil

Nice ones Smile Must have. I'm looking for some BEDO RAM... These are really evil... But nobody has them :-/

I remember it well. Horrible stuff that had to be used in pairs - yuck!

Actually, I do rememebr building a few 800MHz Systems with this kind of memory, so yes, some P3's must have used Rambus!

Yes some of the chipsets of P-III supports RDRAM. Pentium III is worse performing, on RDRAM-platforms with i820 or i840 chipset.Actually P-III is not design to support higher bandwidth.
