the black one is a WD Peripheral Interface
I'd be curious to see whats under the paint though

I think that the golden chip is the graphical engine of a silicon grafics workstation. On internet you get references of "GE11 REV B". These concern Indigo2 and octane workstations.
I haven't actually seen a picture of that chip, but this is a guess based on the code on the chip. I have only found this picture http://hardware.majix.org/computers/sgi.indigo2/images/purple.22.big.jpg. On the left you could suppose that the golden thing that sticks through the heatsink is the central cilinder that you see on the chip. |
