Why are people spending $40-100 on c8008's and c8008-1's when you can go to usbid and buy 400 for half the price of one on ebay?

Refurbished or not it's still a c8008-1.

The chips they are offering were once worth more but not after they have been defaced and reprinted.

Most collectors would rather pay $50.00 for one on Ebay than $8,000 for 400 chips to a chip broker and on these particular chips you would never get your money back. Hey, but they're guaranteed to work if you have some old computers to put them in Smile

Just want to report that the Gmanbc made good on his offer. I traded him a very nice group of non-processor vintage intel chips including a white/gold ES, two greys and a few more white/golds for a C4004 and C4040. See them below.
Go find the man the chips he needs!

Hey Metalmaker,
Thanks for the trade! I am glad you liked the chips I got your chips yesterday and I am also quite happy with them. I hope to trade with you again!

Hi Lee, hi collectors reading this,

I just want to say that it is really a pleasure to trade with Lee.
And not only in the case of "give him something to get a C4004".
In my case I help him complete his collection.
It makes fun - he is a nice and VERY SERIOUS guy (I did a mistake that resulted in sending chips for $1000 uninsured without tracking, this was a chance for somebody, not for him).
And btw, your last order got to me on Thurseday, I sent it to you today.

Have a good time, Michael

i am just a fun bidder way low the reserve (that i ecpect at more than 2000).
i am pretty sure george knows this also.
i just do what i said in another thread about this auction.
offend the seller by bid very many but very low amounts:-)

i also collect all his images to identify his chips in later auctions.
at my opinion these chips are no longer at my real wishlist.
grey 4003 in general but not these.

yepp, i'll try to prevent getting into a shill bidding auction later.

unfortunately your auction behavior with these chips is very strange.

so i don't know who is serious here...

Ha! That's what I'm saying all the time... And I think Lee does not know all Chipbrokers.
