It seems like a stupid question to me until I found there are many collectors really don't collect ES because of different reasons like too expensive...and so on.

I'm curious how many of you collect or not collect ES.
Please add your option if possible!

It's kinda hard for me to answer this one.
Yes, I would buy ES if I had the chance to get it with reasonable price.
No, I do not look for any particular ES. I want my collection to be as complete as possible (in term of Intel CPU product line, processor speed), but not stepping & type (ES, QS, MS, PS, CS).

I collect ES for the sake of completion. I don't actively search for them, but like with other chips I will buy them if I see them at a price I like when I have the money to pay for them Smile.

As my collection started out as a means of testing x86 cpuid code, especially for 386 and later processors, I had to collect different steppings from the start - and now that I am just as interested in them for their historical value as anything, it makes even more sense to have every version I can find Smile

Of course, I'll never have a collection that compares to some people, as I simply don't have the means, but I'll have a damn good try (even if I do end up having to sell the neighbour and her house to do it!!! <j/k>)

Well, I guess just like all collectables, the fewer there are of that item the rarer they become. I vote FOR to collecting engineering samples. Whether it's an incorrectly stamped piece of currency, pre-released stamp sheet, or an engineering sample cpu, you know there is a very limited amount existing elsewhere. I think that's enough reason to make me collect them. Wink

I try to not collect them.
I try to collect only officially released x86s.
But I have several ES in my collection, because I didn't find non-ES model of them for the moment...

The only ES I would be looking for could be the PPro 133, because it could have been released.
