Chemicals are required to do this and safety is a real issue.
It can be done but caution is advised. Too many chase
after "gold" and end up harming themselves and the environment
through ignorance.

If you want to do it, please just consider the risks. Trust me, it's
easier to sell what you have an buy her a gold chain. Smile

Health issue is my big concern so I didn't do any test on them by myself.

However, I read the ebay seller mention below:
In response to customer requests, this gold plate recovery method was developed for a safer, non-toxic gold recovery process. It uses common household chemicals to include ammonia, non-iodized salt, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide.

The word acid seems to enlist fear in most people; however, the general public, without concern, is subjected to many types of weaker acids daily, such as acetic acid (vinegar), citric acid (lemon/lime juice), boric acid (disinfectant) etc.

The leach solution you will be formulating is simply the combination of Non-Iodized Salt, Ammonia, Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide mixed in precise proportions and in exact order as specified in the Instructional Synopsis, only that and nothing more. It is a weaker acid than the parent acetic acid (Vinegar).

That's why I ask here to anyone whether this "Non-toxic" is doable or not??

No one should ever do this indoors or in heavily populated areas
like Hong Kong unless you live way out in the country. You don't
want to breathe the fumes or have your apartment neighbors
breathe them either. Shocked

It also produces waste liquids that need to be dealt with in an
environmentally friendly manner and not just poured on the
ground or down the drain into the sewer system.

Thanks for your useful advice. I will stop thinking to recover gold from my gold fingers parts.
