I have a CPU (which I am not bidding on, fortunately) in my eBay watch list whose price has gone up by 3% in the last few days, with no new bids. My bills are going up faster than I am buying. All because the British public were conned by certain politicians into voting to leave the EU!
I have always strongly believed that most of the strength the pound knew was due to being in the EU. Certain parties are saying the current value of the pound is beneficial to businesses selling to the EU (and farther afield). It's doing no favours for the majority who are seeing prices of goods from the EU rise!
