It's only about licensing AMD GPU cores, not about merging or acquiring. |

I was aware of that news since almost one year. I even wrote it down in a cryptic way in the march issue of our magazine.
Negotiations between AMD and Intel started in June 2015. Two months later at IDF (Intel's Developer Forum), lots of guy were already talking about that.
The goal is to make an MCM package including an Intel CPU (prob. Ice Lake) and some Radeon GPU (as an IGP). Target for this SoC is Apple. They don't want them to switch to ARM on their MacBook. I did, but not very well apparently. When I got to the bottom of the article, my mind replaced Micron with Intel.
I'll try backing off on the caffeine a little. lol |
