I look for them thoroughly, but found nothing beside these two. They are exactly the same as Winchip 2 with only one improvement, they have doubled L1 cache to 128kB. Thereīs no any other change according to the datasheets.

photo...
i bought this chip from a forum member 5+years ago
and test it imediately when i got it
then i put it somewhere... i just cant remember where it is now
according to my record(it is 5+years , so i cant recall the detail)
this chip has a gold lid , its bottom cover is removable, which make it possible to take a picture of the die. but i dont have such equipment
i test it on asus P5AB (a very late super socket 7 board)
@win2000 :
it boot to the window log then crashed
if disable P5A-B's cache, it could boot to safe mode , then crashed
@win98 SE:
it could boot to safe mode only (my record doesnt mention if cache disable or not)
and can run some small program such as the cpu-z
i will try to locate this chip when i can |

Thank you for the info!
Probably different chipsets like 430TX, or VIA's MVPs can work better with it. |

I wonder, how would it perform. I expect quite poor performance, because is quite similar to Samuel core. I donīt understand much how CPU works, but I made a little comparison. It would be interesting to measure the L1 cache latency. Is it possible that poor VIA C3 is caused also by its higher cache latency (4 clocks) or more likely due to its longer pipeline?
As you can see bellow Winchip 4 is more like Via Cyrix III, than Winchip 2&3: _________________ Looking For Chips 386 J38605DX, Symphony FPU, Rise Tiger, MP6-II, Winchip 3&4, IDT C6-Early Logo, Nx686, Tesla 8088, L80C86, Bulgarian 8088, Pentium 4 QT69ES. |

Never say "No" in cpu collection. I'm sure you'll find it in the future as long as you keep searching for it. |
