Hi all,

MY FRIEND HAVE 3 ITANIUM ES 500MHZ (2M CACHE) AND 4 PENTIUM MMX 150MHZ (“PMMX 150”) FOR SALE. They’re all system pulled cpu and untested. He don’t know the price so he ask me to be his agent to negotiate the price with interested parties. I therefore post a topic here to ask for the price for them.

Shipping will be USD5 for Itanium and USD2 for Pentium MMX 150MMX to anywhere. Additional item +USD2.5 & +USD1 respectively.

Itanium and PMMX will go to the 3 and 4 final max bidder(s) on 4 April,2006 16:00 (USA time)if my friend satisfy the final price.

Thanks for looking.

Billy

This looks like an auction to me - state your price and highest bidders get it? Get your bids in by a set time?

I want one of each as well, and it depends on price. For now I'm just expressing my interest as per group buy rules, a price will be added only if the moderators say this is not an auction that it fits within forum rules, as I'm not always sure where the line is drawn...)

I am interested, but may I see the photos first?

BTW, shouldn't this be in the For Sell in stead of Group Buy?

Yes, this is not a group buy. Moved to "For Sale" forum. Please do not post offers in the forum - send them directly to bccwchan

It's a mobile Pentium MMX processor in PPGA package. It's less rare than Pentium MMX 133, but it's not as common as Pentium MMX 166, 200 or 233.

Sorry for the wrong thread post as my friend don't give me the selling price. He "instructed" me to negotiate with the interested parties. I believe it run like a group buys so I posted this topic here.

BTW, Thanks to Genna to move this topic to the right position.

I hope I can create a win-win trade for my friend and the interested parties. My friend can make the profit and cpu collectors can buy the vintage cpu.

Thanks all,

Billy

PostPosted: Mon Apr 03, 2006 5:03 am    Post subject: Arrangement Reply with quote

Hi all,

There is only 2 days left and I think I should post the following arrangement for the attention of the potential bidder.

Sequence Date (USA) Remark
1 4/Apr 16:00:00 Sales Closed
2 5/Apr 16:00:00 Winner list will be posted on forum.
The winner will be informed by PM.
My friend will send the cpus from China to Hong Kong.
(It usually takes 5-6 days).
3 5-10/Apr The winner select the cpu by quoting the number (i.e. 1 for Itanium (I012261U-0114 etc).
(The highest bidder get the first priority)
and tell me the mailling address.
I hope the winner will reply within one day to enable the next winner have enough time to select.

4 10 or 11/Apr I'll inform the winner upon my receipt of the cpus and
ask for payment via Paypal.
5 12 or 13/Apr I'll ship the cpu by airmail on the next business upon
my receipt of the payment.

Please let me know if you have any comment on this arrangement.

How are the final prices worked out? Do all the winners for each type of chip pay the same as each other, or is the maximum quoted price the actual price paid by each person (ie if one person gave a maximum price of double the maximum stated by another winner for the same chip do they pay the same or double what the lower bidder offered?). I think doing it the way that it would be done on eBay (with all bidders for the same chip paying the same price) is the fairest way to do it, but the pricing policy has not been indicated at any stage... Even for an auction, people should have an idea how their bids are being dealt with...

According to the arrangement between my friend and I. The winners will pay his offer price + shipping.

Example for 2 Itanium: A offers $1, B offers $2, C offers $3
The 2 Itanium will go to C & B. C pay me $3 + shipping; B pay me $2 + shipping.

I believe it's much better to place them on ebay (I spent much time to explain on forum than listing on ebay). The most important thing is that my friend is unwilling to sell them if the price is uncertain. I therefore recommended this way to "fix" the price. (I promise I won't do it again, it's not funny).

I’m sorry that I didn’t explain early. And I think if the potential buyer/bidder isn't happy with this arrangement, he/she can cancel his/her offer, without any reason, before 4 Apr, 06 16:00 by PM.
