I think the black tops are earlier models. Never been able to afford one though, so I might be wrong. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I was under the impression that K6-2 ES chips are marked with a paint, not engraved.
But never seen ACZM ones, it's possible they are somewhat special.

Doh, why it should be so complicated ? :/
Fake ones here too ?
Why do they call gold, looks like regular K6 with additional line saying "ES".
How to differ if they are fake ? |

yes, it is complicated, but also interesting. Much better then hundreds of green chips with silver HS, which looks the same. BTW, there´s no fakes at these auctions. _________________ Looking For Chips 386 J38605DX, Symphony FPU, Rise Tiger, MP6-II, Winchip 3&4, IDT C6-Early Logo, Nx686, Tesla 8088, L80C86, Bulgarian 8088, Pentium 4 QT69ES. |

Some people faked lower speed CPUs and sold them as hihger clocked versions. It could be done in these days, no locked mulitplier and no speed writen in microcode.
You can see the paint on the ceramic and rewritten speed mark on the pic. _________________ Looking For Chips 386 J38605DX, Symphony FPU, Rise Tiger, MP6-II, Winchip 3&4, IDT C6-Early Logo, Nx686, Tesla 8088, L80C86, Bulgarian 8088, Pentium 4 QT69ES. |
