I looked online and the A I can find like it has a long serial (or batch, idk honestly, the number below the model) does that make a difference? And the AL's I've seen all have the groundstraps. Neither has a date code on the bottom.

The C1702A is rather a common one, the 'long' lot number ones often are really a datecode/sspec on one line (like 7419S314)
The C1702AL (low power) is the newer package
Date codes were rarely used on chips until 1975 for Intel. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
