I'm designing new version of Intel Advanced SDK-85 , I need to add Intel's D27C400 to my PCB but I don't know how to connect pin no (29 = O15 / -A1) in my schematic diagram.
Any advice.

The function of pin No. 29 changes depending on the level on the \BYTE pin (pin 31). When pin 31 is connected to GND, which is more appropriate in your case, the chip is in the BYTE mode and is configured as a 512K x 8 EPROM. Then, pin 29 works as an additional address pin (thus there are in total 19 address pins to address 512K bytes).

However, it is not recommended to use D27C400 for an advanced SDK-85, because 8085 can address only up to 64KB of memory. It would be better to use 2764, 27128, 27256 or 27512. Personally, I prefer using EEPROMs such as AM9864 or 28C256, which can be written and erased like static RAMs.
