|
|
| The main thing slowing down the performance of my laptop is when I have multiple internet browser tabs open simultaneously. I know there are better ways to manage this. But aside from those, would it help to get a laptop with more cores, like a quad-core i7? What about a lower-lever quad-core AMD? What else helps for this - larger cache, RAM, hyperthreading, clockspeed? Thanks. |

Yeah, I hope everyone uses SSD as a main drive nowadays ))
Otherwise it's the number one upgrade. |

multicore helps when you lay all the windows at the same time, for example when you lay 4 1080p browser windows on a 4k display, that all the contents are rendered at the same time.
as long as you switch between the tabs, only 1 tab is activited, not much use for extended cores.
however all opened tabs consume memory. |

Chrome (and probably others) LOVE RAM, and unfortunately have a lot of memory leaks. |
Looks like you're right, John. Having only 5 open tabs... |
