If you are looking for a site used by several of our members to record info and pics of their collections, try http://www.x86-guide.com/. If you are looking for as much info as possible to determine what you want in your collection, try the "Links" page on this site (link at the top of the page). There are a lot of informative sites, some with small collections some with large. One of the largest and most informative outside this site is www.cpushack.com

Don't be shy of asking questions here and getting involved in discussions. We are probably the largest CPU collectors forum in the English speaking world.

I'm just using a spreadsheet on Google docs to track it for my own information, but I'm not taking pics of them anymore.

i'm using google docs as well, however, I have many years of experience with web development. I could make some system to keep track of any cpu collection. Would be kind of cool if you just look up a cpu and add it to your collection with data like where you got it from, how much did it cost you etc. Also having that data means you can see what cpu's are rare and keeping a tradelist would then also be super simple.

Just want to make sure there is nothing like that out there already.

Not that I know of.. but we're probably not the only ones with a spreadsheet. If you made something that could scan a spreadsheet for things like Intel sSpec numbers and AMD part numbers, and then display your collection, that would be pretty cool. I'd totally use that.

I'm working on something basic now.

As far as i can see we need this info for each chip

- Brand
- Family
- Model Nr
- Part Nr

Then additionally :

- Clock speed
- Bus speed
- Photo
- Release year
- Rarity (common, rare, utra rare etc)
- Market Price
- Link to cpu-world maybe.

And then when you add the chip to your collection, you could then add personalized info

- Where did you get it from
- When did you get it
- Price paid for chip
- How many you own
- Where is it stored
- Personal photos
- will trade (for auto-generating your tradelist)

Thing we could do with this info:

- Find out how rare some chips are (we can easily see which users have what chips and how many)
- Find out what market prices are (if people input how much they paid for the chip)
- Generate pages displaying your cpu collection
- Auto generate tradelists.
- Auto generate want-lists. So you can see what is missing in your collection.

Other ideas?

Already exists ,for more than 10 years !

www.x86-guide.com hosts many collections with all you need I believe.

I have some trouble with spam bots with the registering page, but if you pm me your login name after sending the registration form I will easily validate it.

Would you mind doing a couple of screenshots of the user interface when logged in? I'd really like to see how it works...
