|
|
Hi all
I just unboxed a Pentium Pro. As you can see in the picture, despite being a brand new PPro, there are black spots on the solder around the top due to age.
I've already tried to clean it with small amount of alcohol and vinegar. Neither worked.
Is there anyway to remove this without causing any damage to the processor?
Thanks |

Manufacturer website: https://www.tripeek.com/products.html
Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm//172301991574
And you need to use a buffing cloth (similar to towel) to clean that: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263005394158
You may find these cheaper elsewhere.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a polishing material. It can be used for removing scratches (car, oven, glass, etc). It removes the matte finish and creates a shiny surface (e.g. don't use that to remove iPhone scratches, etc.)
It works well on ceramics too and removes minor scratches without ruining the matte finish. But don't use it on gold top CPUs as it makes them too shiny!
It's fine to use them on processors with "white print" and it doesn't rub the writings off.
