|

I've got these 6 Beckman chips that I belive to be memory (possiboly DRAM, but I'm not sure), but I can't find any information about them. Does anybody know anything about them? _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Is there a reasonably simple way to test unknown chips like these, to get a vague idea? Whatever they are, they cost next to nothing... The seller thought they might be memory chips, but I bought them knowing they might be just about anything...
If they could be op-amps or line drivers, I'll have to look up what either of them actually does (not that I would start collecting either chip type on the basis of having these, but it's good to have an idea what I have...) _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

That'll make them easy to test then Good thing they were cheap! _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I would probably go with that too however normally on resistor packs you have an indication of the resistance on the package. Nothing on that package relates to a E range of resistor.
Edit: Actually they might be Zero ohm links. Look here on this very site and notice the resistor part on the end. '0' in your case may mean Zero Ohms.

Best way for me to check that is to put some batteries in my multimeter when i can get to the shop - at least that is a simple test that won't damage any of the other chip types it could be _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I turned those beckmans down off Richard
But - interestingly Genna has one of these in his database under 'inidentified chips' _________________ 4000+ chips.

I only bought them because I got them for the £0.99 opening bid Mind you, as they appear to not be what he thought and I hoped, it looks like £0.99 well wasted
I didn't find the "unidentified chips" link - is that the "odd chips" link that Andy posted above? If so, it's only a similar chip, not the same - although as discussed above, it seems likely that it is the same type of chip and I can test it to see if it is a resistor network _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

| If its a Zero ohm network then you should either get a dead short from the pins across the chip or from one of the pins to all the others. If it isnt then you will get a resistance reading. |
