Hi mates,
This is an interest survey of a new 2903/29203 BSP tester.
Unfortunately my Am2901 tester can not be expanded to be capable of testing Am2903 and Am29203 BSPs.
On suggestion of CPUShack, I started working on a new BSP tester design. It handles Am2903 and Am29203 chips directly (in a ZIF 48 pin socket) and with an expansion it can cope with Am2901 too.
It’s basically similar design as my Intel 3002 tester’s. A PIC MPU acts as micro code controller and also holds the test code. So no EPROM used and no need of extra BSP, only the tested one required.
Its price would be around $70-75 including the Am2901 expansion. (or $8 less without expansion)

I’d like to know who is interested in?
Thanks!

The manual is ready, can be seen here:

I'm in for one without the expansion (I already have your AM2901 tester Smile )

Ahh very nice, any chance an expansion could support the 6701?

I'll think about that. Started looking for datasheets. Smile

after a quick research the 5701/6701 expansion seems feasible
it needs a simple expansion / pin converter, software detection and of course different test code

That was the 2901s competitor back in the day, not nearly as successful but would be a neat addition

an other candidate to test with this tester is the TTL 74181 ALU
maybe it worth an other expansion Smile
I designed one, so it also will be available if someone need it
