|

I want to ask you if it is ok to cancel an order on Ebay just because you think the item was sold too cheap...
This happened to me too many times now... I think its unfair... isnt my fault that seller didnt set a reserved price or a higher starting price.. (and the last one wasnt a rookie, had 1900 feedbacks).
Ok , my last lot was extremly cheap and i really felt sorry for the guy but inna minute he canceled my order.
Opinions?
PS wasnt free shipping.. was US to US 60 USD _________________ https://www.facebook.com/CPUCollectionRO |

Sounds like a breach of eBay rules to me as auctions are legally binding in most jurisdictions. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Seller have 1902 feedback points so he isn't rookie. I think there is limitation of cancelled auctions so he can't do this everytime. Anyway he is a sly and used this tool as eBay provide it. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

well, i made some researches and Ebay isnt fair...
seller - You can cancel a transaction: Up to 30 days after the sale even if your buyer has already paid for the item
buyer - A buyer can request to cancel a transaction within 1 hour of purchasing the item
So any seller can cancel anything .. and dont have to give a reason... this is F#ck3d up...
but the good part:
If you cancel a transaction, the buyer can still leave you negative or neutral Feedback about the transaction.
so i'll leave a negative feedback... _________________ https://www.facebook.com/CPUCollectionRO |

These are new regulations, was not there a few years ago.
Its' done to save eBay for having to get involved in conflicts
and just focus on making easy money.
Earlier (until two years ago?) the seller could not cancel a transaction
unless the buyer agreed to it.
Somebody needs to contact some politicians to change this back
to where it was in the past. |

This just happened to me. I won auction with a low bid. The seller canceled the transaction within 1 minute of auction end, then relisted the item a few hours later, with higher starting price.
Seller did the same thing for several other auction items that I did not bid on. Three people left negative feedback, but eBay does nothing. |

In some cases it is helpful. I sold item worth 500 EUR to person from Brasil who not even thinked to pay. I did cancel it quickly.
Second time same item but purchased by a student from Peru. He was definitely a scammer. No comments and fake adress. He paid and I would throw 500 EUR + shipping cost + eBay and PayPal fees about 80 EUR throught just the window !
Buyer almost do not risk anything but seller ? whooaaa that is more risky than high bid in Vegas Why US government not regulate their Superior powers of taking over seller's money. The old good rule of internet buisness was : do not trust sellers with low opinions, do not buy if you feel the seller is not reliable. We have still these rules in Poland and sale at internet only increase. If I will be cheated I go to police and that is easy to them. No dispute center is needed. And seller have more problems than negative feedback. What happens to eBay ? _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Nothing because you agreed to their EULA when you signed up.
It's totally legal.
It doesn't make it right, but it's totally legal. |

Mainly because they are a monopoly with enough lawyers and shady patents to keep the threat of any competition away
Being publicly traded means their ONLY concern is for their shareholders. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

I am no lawyer, and have no desire to dig through the EULA. When a seller offers an item for auction, there is risk that it may not bid high, but the seller can mitigate the risk by setting a higher start price. This is common to all auction-style sales.
I think if eBay allows a seller to continue to sell, when that seller fails to honor the terms of auction - multiple times, with 5 negative feedbacks this month - then eBay is not performing its function as an auction facilitator. |

I wish you were right.
One would think it should be that way.
The reality is, it isn't. |
