Dear friends!

I want to share with you my sad CPU collecting story.

I started collecting ~1999. My first CPU was Intel 486SX2-50 (SX845). For last ~18 years I collected a lot of interesting mostly x86 chips.

In the mid of September big part of my collection (mostly ceramic and goldcap CPUs) was stolen. I’m sure it was sold for scrap. I don’t want to go to details how they did it. I defiantly know who did that.

I published information to Russian speaking local collectors’ forum. But my CPUs were not seen somewhere at the market. It means they probably were scraped…

I thought to stop collecting at this point, but then I decided not to do this. From logical point of view stopping will be smart solution (I have two very little kids now, there is huge financial crises in Russia etc. including my personal situation), from moral point of view it means that not only CPUs were stolen but also part of my life which is not right. So I decided to try to recover my collection.

I had ~2400 different x86 CPUs. I think 350-450 ceramic pieces were stolen.

I’m making inventory now to find what I need.

I will very much appreciate your help. I will publish my stolen lists. It mostly Intel and AMD 286/386/387/486/Pentium (goldcap)/Pentium Pro All goldcaps CPUs like Cyrix/IBM/ST 6x86,MX/L/MII/C3, IDT Winchips.
If you have any spares, offers, some lists or you plan to sell your collection, please PM me.

Thank you very much. I’m here still.

Misha.

Sad news, Misha. Sad
We're looking forward to check your stolen list.
Perhaps, with some luck, we'll be able to track down this ba***rd by checking the usual auction site...

Good luck! Smile

Thank you friends!

I will appreciate any help of recovering. I lost most of ceramic 486s. And a lot of rare stuff like Cyrix cx386/486 33/66, CHIPS 386, Nexgen P80, PPro 133 (and all others PPro), AMD 486DX-33 and 486DX4-90 and may others.

I'm checking still.

Misha

Wow bad story, sorry to read this. Although I only collect CPUs from 80s and older I can imagine your treasures went to gold recovery. Don't be desperate, rebuild your collection slowly and see your kids growing fast.
Btw. I started collecting about the same time, late 90s, and by that I fully understand even a dumb thing like some old chips happen to be a part of your life.
