Made in 1983

Has some additional markings which are a bit odd

The 4510 is typically a MaskROM code (used on things like a 8051) bu the 8085 of course doesnt have user ROM

It could have a semi-custom micro-code version though

Thanks John, your the best Wink

Does Intel has made a lot of 8085 with additional marking or 4510 writed on it ?

Maybe it was a HP housemark such as this one :

So that is why they wrote the mask's number 4510 on it with intel logo.

If manufacter is Amd, then i don't know if i should put it in Amd or Intel tab on my Web site lol ?

Concerning the HP housemark, it's made by Intel right ? But why HP needed a specific part number on this cpu ?

the ones that say AMD are AMD, the Intel one is Intel

THe AMD thay also says Intel is an AMD

733W02221 (which is on the Intel AND AMD one) is called a 'House mark'

Whoever the buyer was requested their own part number stuck on the chips, they do this so they can more easily track part #s and replacements

HP does the same thing, almost all their chips have an HP house number

In this case you can see why, both AMD and Intel made the 8085 , they are an equivalent chip, but Intel and AMD use different part numbers for them which would be a pain to track for the client, so they have their own part # which covers any compatible chip

I understand better now.

It is really an interesting story, have you thought about sharing it on cpushack.com ? (or maybe it is already done)

There are few infos about "house marking" on the Web.

Thanks again for your precious knowledge !
