Are socket 423 and socket 478 coolers interchangeable? A google search and an eBay search for socket 423 coolers both bring up socket 478 coolers, some of which are much cheaper. Got a socket 423 system I'm going to build, with RAMBUS memory (my only RAMBUS system).

No, they are not. They have different brackets.
