| Space. My favourite theme )) It is interesting as usual. By modern standards, such an ordinary processor has two cores, 1 GHz, but how much useful work it does! He probably also protected from radiation? I wonder what method is the transfer of data from space to earth and how fast is the data flow in M/G bit/s? |

Ka-Band radio, very high data rate, 125Mbit/sec
Compare that to the datarates from the MarCo cube sats that are going to Mars soon, 8k/sec _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

| 125 Mbit Impressive )) To the Mars you mean only 8 Kbit/sec ? |

Interestingly I received a message from a NASA engineer that they actually switched to a different flight computer midway through the development.
I updated the article to reflect this, its a similar design, just switched from a dual core P2020, to a single core P2010 _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Must be a nerve racking time for the Engineers that developed the Satellite on Launch Day.
If the Launch fails a lot of time, effort and money goes to waste _________________ The Older they are the Better they are. |
