Good Luck but I think you are dreaming.
Both the C4040 and the C4289 are soldered onto the board and that decreases their value immensely
If they were in sockets you would sell it very quickly at that price _________________ The Older they are the Better they are. |

I think it is fair price. Very realistic to receive. Print is very good. Complete board. OK soldered but socket pull only C4040 is worth minimum about 600-700 in that condition. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Like I said good luck.
I already have 2 C4040 both in very nice condition that were not soldered that I paid an average price of US$375.00 each for on eBay in recent months so I am not in the market for one that is soldered to a board. _________________ The Older they are the Better they are. |

Its worth what someone will pay, thus he says or best offer, maybe $500 is too much, then offer $400 (with a 4289 thats probably a nice deal) _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Yeh, please be respectful to forum members.
Members can sell item at whatever price they want, you can offer whatever price you want.
As long as someone is happy to pay at the price, the chip/board worthies that value . _________________ Want List

To find the true value the best way is to start with a $1 reserve but hey if your happy to pay the price Neo go ahead and buy it _________________ The Older they are the Better they are. |

That is your call but I would suggest you put it on eBay with a $1 reserve and I would think it would sell for between $200 & $400 but you may also get more if at least 2 people find it very desirable.
I doubt the scrappers would pay more than $20

Dear Omfg....,
in my opinion the comments you receive are also because a new member with a nickname like a crashed keyboard posts three short lines asking a neat amount of money.
A short "hi, ..." introduction of yourself, anything more than jump-in, grab'n'vanish would be normal in normal life.
So why not doing it here?
You might imagine, we have and had enough of those, even those that never send the items.
Cheers, Michael _________________ You may use the photos I have posted here under CC BY-NC-SA license. |

| Hi all, my name is Andrew, I hail from the cold cold state of Minnesota where the snow never melts. My username looks like I mashed my keyboard a few times but it's not. I am 32 years old with a degree in chemical physics, I enjoy a little computer programming, but my favorite thing to do is to get out in nature and foraging for wild plants and mushrooms. I am not a chip collecter. My father was an electrical engineer who focused on radio for a company called 'E.F.Johnsons'. When the MCS-4 was obsoleted, the company was hust throwing all that stuff away, so my father decided to take them and he originally planned on making something with them, but he never got around to it and they have just been sitting in a box in the basement for a long time. As I said before, I am not a collector myself, but I would like to find new homes for these chips and boards, with someone who will appreciate them as they are the first commercial controllers afiak. All the chips I have run from the 4004 gen. to a few 8080 gen. chips.[/img] |
