I've been waiting for a K6-III 550 ACR to come available on Ebay and recently this one was listed:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-AMD-K6-III-550-ACR-Ultimate-DOS-gaming-chip/173350359792?hash=item285c7c92f0:g:oy4AAOSwQWxbFUps

I feel a lot like that's way too high an asking price but I don't know what the previous/current value of one of these CPUs is. Can someone help me temper expectations for the hole I'll need to burn in my wallet to get one of these?

Thanks!

A full K6-III+ set sold here for $260 last year.

That listing looks over priced to me, but it is very rare.

A few years ago it was worth about 150 USD. Let's say it became more rare and inflation I would say it would be 250-300 Today. Anyway there are more people who need them and seller knows that pushing higher value.

Well, it sold for $500, someone really wanted that one. Some CPU's are selling for sky high prices these days, I wonder if they keep their value or one day nobody want's them anymore.

Yes, some of them are currently quite pricey (like the K5 PR200). I think the last one that sold I saw was for over $400.

Regardless, someone on this forum contacted me to sell me one for a more reasonable price. If anyone reading this wants to sell a K5 PR200 though or a K6-III 450ACK contact me.
