CPU-World Records.

First and foremost, this thread will be linked to the CPU WORLD RECORD thread, and is to determine what the Most expensive vintage CPU ever sold was.

Rather than a 'submit your own' stye thread like we have done previously, This thread is intended to be more of a discussion to see if between us we can discover what was the most expensive VINTAGE CPU ever sold.

Important things to factor into the answer to this, is not to confuse the vintage CPU Price with the brand new CPU Price. Also proof of any knowledge of a high priced vintage CPU will be improtant.

Recently we have seen some rare CPU's go for 100's of dollars, perhaps even close to 1000?

Please discuss What was the most expensive Vintage CPU ever so we can add it to the:

CPU WORLD RECORD THREAD

Thank you

To get us started, the most expensive chip I have seen recently going to a collector was the SX735 going for $200.

Does it have to be priced with proof, or what we feel is worth the most?

That really can't work man. I mean how many "actual" expensive vintage chips do you see being sold on ebay, even within months at a time?

The most expensive single chip I recorded recently on eBay was a C4004 with grey traces, that sold for $705.65 on Feb 10th

I'm sure there are others that were more, I am sure I remeber some, I just don't have all the links.

I knew the small database I'm compiling would be good for something Smile

I'm looking through the eBay developers kit to try and figure out how to write an app to perform searches and log auction results with as much info as can be recorded without breaking copyrights Smile

Does this count?

US$1425.00. It's a board with other chips, tho. I have a bad habbit of saving eBay auctions that I felt it's worth saving.

Oh, there is a eBay developer kit? Didn't know it, but your idea is very implement with MS .NET. I wrote my own eBay snipping program with that.

I'm not a windows programmer so I find it complex, but if you are used to programming for Windows then you might find it straightforwad to use Smile

Huh, nice functionalities but eBay require unique tokens (authentication keys) for every single user. Worst of all, they do not support snipping; I guess I will stick to my old way Wink
