Can we just have both?
I think it will serve a different purpose.

Forum is very easy to have an overview of, Facebook will have it drowning in my feeds of pets and bacon and other groups Laughing

I'm not saying we should "switch" or "mirror" to facebook...

A group should serve a purpose of actually getting to know each other.
Sharing some fun pictures of cpu collecting.

For example I don't have FB or any others social net account. It s better to use old methods like phone, email, PM on forum Very Happy
All social groups like evil Twisted Evil its not friendly to use, no privacy, i donot see any advantages imho.

That is exactly what I think too. More FB = less forum. That is fact.

I can't see anything sensible that you can do on FB that we can't do here. I can see potential for a lot more spammers.

Quite agree with Debs and Marcin.
Forum does the job pretty well, creating a FB group would dilute information without adding any functionnality.

No need to change, what works great.
When I first open internet for itself, it was very slow less then 32kbit/s (dial-up), but it was more friendly, now with 50Mbit/s i have tonns of span, most from different social nets. Social nets kill normal internet, there nothing interesting, pics, pics, video, pics.... On forum i can easy find any information, even 10 year aged, in social nets its impossible. And ... not in all countries FB and others are allowed, i know in China there some restrictions, but there some colllectors from China.
