The Sparc S7 (codenamed Sonoma or SN1) was an 8 core SPARC processor running at 4+ GHz. It was essentially 1/4 of a SPARC M7 processor but with some added features. Oracles goal with the Sonoma was to bring the cloud to silicon.

SPARC S7 can protect both data in motion and at rest - hardware acceleration of encryption and decryption processes is possible using, among others, AES, RSA, DH, DSA, ECC, SHA-256, SHA-385 or SHA-512, no overheads for running applications. Software in Silicon is also hardware acceleration of In-Memory mode: special dedicated coprocessors are able to compress and decompress data stored in memory on the fly as well as perform advanced SQL filters on them.

Now the successor to the S7 was going to be called Sonoma Next, aka SN2, It was to use 5th generation SPARC cores (same as the MCool it, along with all other SPARCs have been canceled as Oracle is going Xeon only (sadly)

That makes exact specs on these prototypes a bit hard to find, but we can be sure they are something more then a S7

I Have 18 of these prototypes $20 each or a pair for $38
(one reserved for isa-d)

I can see that Oracle's S and T line Sparcs are cancelled, but the current roadmap shows the M line as continuing. Where did you come by the information that all Sparc development was ending?
