|
|
Does anyone here know how to get a file off of a BBS over Telnet?
BBS and Telnet were before my time, and I tried for hours to navigate it, but I didn't have much luck (also it's in French, and I know very little French)
It appears to be the only place in the universe that has a copy of an ancient Cyrix CPU/FPU identification utility that I would like to get my hand on.
Any help is appreciated. |

| If you can PM me the details, I can copy the file on to a web server for you to download the normal way. |

| Maybe you can share it here, perhaps more people are interested. |

I absolutely will, without doubt. I always believe in sharing rare files. That way they are never lost to the ages. |

What is the utility? I may already have it, but if not, would like to add it to my library. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

It's cyrix-id.zip (not to be confused with cyrixid.zip!).
It's 17 KB. That's how you can tell it apart from the one without the dash, that one is 36 KB.
As far as I can tell, its the very first version of a CPU/FPU ID utility offered by Cyrix. |

| Sorry, but I can see the file listed, but when I go to download it, it tells me the file can't be found. Not sure what the problem is. The BBS owner seems really keen on participation, so maybe I need to be a member for a while before I can download? In any case, as the file is so small, possibly the site owner will be happy to email it to you if you ask nicely? bbs(a)kerv(dot)fr |

Thank you for trying. I ran into the same error. I assumed that I was doing something wrong since I know nothing about BBS. Guess it's a problem on their end (or as you said, you have to be a member for awhile)
Yeah, I will send an e-mail and see if I can get the file that way. If I do, I will share it here. |
