I just received my Intel Jayhawk from eBay, and I read somewhere on here that there's a thing called "RoHS" that has Qspecs listed.

I was wondering how I could identify the codename of my processor myself through the "RoHS" thing. The Qspec is QBGC. Does anyone know where I could find a 2004 RoHS document that has the Qspecs listed in there?

Thanks!

RoHS is short for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. It is an EU directive that places limits and prohibitions on the use of certain hazardous/toxic substances from being used in electronic equipment.

While some CPUs may be RoHS compliant and others not (by say having lead or lead free solder balls in a BGA package), RoHS isn't by itself a list of CPU Qspecs and internal codenames, so I don't think you'll find what you're after by looking for RoHS information.

Crud. Thanks for the information by the way, would've never known. Where could I find such a list though? A list of Qspecs and codenames would be awesome.

Intel don't publish an official list, but there is a compiled list on this forum http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4499

You can use the search function at the top right to find information and pictures on almost any S or Q spec you find. If you find one that's not listed, you can add information about it there too.

The reason why I asked was because of this:

There has got to be a document out there that lists qSpecs besides the one I found in the thread. I submitted the qSpec QBGC just now. Intel had to have released something about the Intel Jayhawk...

I don't know why Intel at that point released that info on their engineering samples - possibly because those models were current when the directive was introduced, and there was some confusion over what it did and didn't require.

But they are only required to release Material Declaration Data Sheets on released consumer products, and all the MDDS they put out now are only for products with an OPN - which excludes engineering samples.
