About every other winter I switch gears from collecting old CPUs to well buying a new one and some other parts to go along with it.
So I’ll post some photos as I progress this year to bring a little modern to this sea of ancient. |

| Actually I’ll be building 2 new systems this winter the other for the girlfriend so if a component is white or pink it’s not for me but ultimately going into her build. |

| And with enough random pieces arriving between the 2 builds I can toss together 1 system to start testing with. First up storage! |

| I be ordering another threadripper next week, this time a 2920x for the girlfriend. It would be best to use that for the photo as the 2950x I currently have will have thermal paste all over it. I also have a pentium pro with the dies exposed. |

Ewww.
Please keep the topic teenager compliant.
Also, the pentium pro might be over 18yo, but the 2920x really is not. |

Its configured as the boot drive so it helps with everything from running multiple Virtual Machines some with Databases, VR gaming, 4K video editing etc.
What might be real over kill is the new power supply I just picked up lol |

EVGA SuperNova 1600W as desktop PSU is most powerful I ever heard. It supports 9 VGA cards. How many do you plan to put in ?
It have 133A on +12V line. I remember times where ~ 15A was very good result _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

What an awesome build. That SSD array is just plain crazy awesome.
It feels so good to have AMD competing again. |
