I posted this in the wrong place to start with, sorry about that - now moved.

For sale:

Sealed Retail Boxed Pentium 120/133Mhz Overdrive processor.

I have had this in my collection for many, many years. It has never been opened. These are for upgrading the fairly rare socket 4 Pentium P60 and P66.

I'm not sure about pricing; research seems to suggest that these are stupidly rare - and I can't find evidence of one being sold previously, particularly in NIB condition, so I don't know how to price.

It seems that just the CPU goes for ~120 USD nowadays.
Pity it is not shrink-wrapped, but it is still cool.
I'd go 200 USD for the box...

Back in the day, they were not always shrink-wrapped. There is a tear strip on the RH side of the box that one pulls to open; hence no need for shrink-wrapping.

Shrink started in c1996 as I recall; with the advent of Socket 5; the first one being the retail boxed P75 (which I also kept one of). The P60/Skt 4 came on the motherboard, and was the last CPU to do so. The FDIV replacement CPU (which I also kept one of) was the first to come boxed; was sellotaped not shrunk. There is a photo of just the box in another recent thread. I used to sell PCs (my first job) back then, and was a collector as well. We used to get in so much stuff as upgrade spare parts that I binned off - I only kept one of each. Makes me want to cry now! I binned a Cyrix 5x86 133.

Interesting, but not sure what amount I place on this. Don't really care for the box. Do you have a photo of the CPU?

I have one of these that is NIB and shrinkwrapped. Date code is week 39, 1996.

The CPU will look like this with the fan removed (and won't be in a socket like this)

I have one of these NIB that is sealed and has the Shrink Wrap still on it.

Mine may be a version 2.0 but I will never know.

Kinda lost with this one as I've seen them sell at widely varied prices, but very rarely and never with the box...

On the other hand I rather like the idea of taking it off your hands.

Based on the fact I've not seen another boxed one and what I've paid for other rare chips in the past, shall we call it £165 perhaps? Payment would be made via PayPal as that's all I really have.

So, have you gone and died or are you actually serious about wanting to sell this thing? I've just had one seller cold-shoulder me elsewhere and I don't need it again, if you don't like my price let me know and I may be willing to negotiate something else, if the item is no longer for sale then kindly express this.

I understand if you're busy, what with the time of year and all, but this would be three-for-three and it's starting to grate on me and if I haven't heard anything within the next couple of days, then I'm going to assume the item is not for sale and forget about it.
Sorry if I'm being grumpy, but... no, I have no excuse and I'm not gonna make one, damn it! I am grumpy because this keeps happening. If you're busy, fine, if you don't want to sell it for whatever reason, fine, but please don't be like the other people I've had to deal with in the last week and do have the common courtesy to let us know.
