CPU Shack: Motorola PPC823 PowerPC Eng. Samples - 3 Left

These are the first Engineering Samples of the PowerPC MPC823 Processor
They are revision 0 and interestingly the later production ones actually added features (namely increasing the onboard cache RAM from 5-8K)
Later version also dropped 5V compatibility on a lot of the I/Os, this is because these are made on a 0.42u process, and the release versions were shrunk to a 0.32u process, which had better yields and more room on the die.

These are a PowerPC processor running at 81MHz max (these are unrated so likely way less then that) with 1K of L1 Data Cache and 2K of L1 Instruction cache

Very cool to get first ES processors
