Most of my Intel D2716 (whether Malaysia or Philippines) have a lot code with L followed by 8 digits, but I have one with Q followed by 4 digits, made in Malaysia. Does this lot code indicate anything special, or at least significant?

I wondered if it might be a QSpec, but it is from 1980, and I'm not sure when Intel introduced sSpecs and QSpecs. I know the sSpecs we all recognise started some years later, and there are some sSpecs that don't follow the recognised format form before that, but I don't know any this early.

It would be nice if it is an ES. I have several D2716 (all with later datecodes, so ES is a possibility) and bought this one for $1 just because the lot code has a different format than on the others I have, so it would be a lucky chance if it is in fact an early QSpec Smile

I have several of these. not sure what they are, though they could be a qualification run at the factory.

I figured you were the most likely to know anything, so for now I'll mark it down as an unknown D2716 when I get to that part of my site update (later this week - I'll have my site-wide update with asp pages uploaded within 2 days then will be working on my eprom scans).
