I have an AMD ATHLON AX1700 (Not XP or MP) at 1.47MHz, Socket A/462 PGA. I would like to know if I can replace it with an AMD 2200 MP.

(This is my motherboard: http://geek.pricegrabber.com/search_techspecs_full.php/masterid=2741628)

I know the MP will physically fit my motherboard which suppoprts DDR 333/266 SDRAM and a FSB of 333MHz and also supports Athelon XP/Sempron/Duron CPUs.

But can it handle the Athelon MP at 2200+ AMD Socket A at 1.8GHz without any problem?

Any help appreciated.

AMD ATHLON AX1700 (Not XP or MP) ???? I don't think it exists....
It should be an Athlon XP 1700+, no ?

Anyway, yes, your mb can handle all XP/MP except 3000 & 3200 with FSB400

"AX1700 (Not XP or MP)"

AX is an Athlon XP

For example AX1500DMT3C

AX = Athlon XP (Model 6/Palomino)
AXDA = Athlon XP (Model 8/Thoroughbred and Model 10/Barton)
AXDL = Low-power Athlon XP (Model 10/Barton only?)
AXDC = Athlon XP (Model 10/Thorton)
AXLD = Low-power Athlon XP SFF (Model 8/Thoroughbred)
AMDA = Possibly Athlon XP (Model 10/Barton)

AX**** = XP

The worst is that I perfectly know it !

I read fast and didn't see the 'X', but perfectly saw the 'not XP or MP'...

The AX1500DMT3C was just an example of the part number taken from gshv:s info. It was a reply to "AMD ATHLON AX1700 (Not XP or MP)" where AX = XP.

(I see my post is a bit unclear...)

No worries, I was refering to "myblueshoes"

The only part I discuste with your topic was the interest in the different AX... codes. I just thought it would interest you to know about the AXP1700BOX I was talking about Smile

Tis all,

JD
