Hello,
I just need a little advice here. I'm pretty savy as far as computers go. However, this question seems to boggle even the biggest computer guru's. I'm looking to buy a new laptop for college. Here's my dilema: Assuming all other harware is the same (except video cards, which I will get to later), should I go with the Intel Core-Duo T2500 2.0GHz, or the AMD Turion 64 ML-40 2.2GHz. The Intel Core-Duo is paired with the Nvidia card, i think the mobile 7400 card w/ 128MB dedicated RAM. And the Turion is paired with the ATI Express 200 mobile card with 128MB dedicated RAM. Obviously, the Turion is considerably cheaper, but aside from price, which processor will be the best bet? Which will give the best performance, while still getting excelent battery life. By the way, I'm ordering it will the double-capacity 12 cell battery. Also, which CPU runs cooler?

I would choose Intel core duo. Best performance, good battery life, not too hot

Do laptops have video card upgrade options now?

And in answer to all your questions. Intel will run cooler and have the longer battery life.
