Hello everyone!
I have an issue with corrosion on a 80386 motherboard.
Before I do something wrong and regret it I am here to ask what I should do to repair or at least stall the damage.
It's the usual green corrosion on legs and At keyboard plug.
I'll try to post pics but right now I don't remember max sizes.
Thanks in advance! |

Use some vinegar to neutralize the corrosion. Find a sacrificial toothbrush to scrub everything down with.
Afterwards, use isopropyl alcohol to get any remaining grime.
If anything is especially stubborn on connectors, you can try an abrasive like baking soda or steel wool, etc. _________________ My collection |

Crazybubba64's method is best known from opinions in internet. I will try that soon too.
@D.8080 Look into ISA port - I have a few boards where ACID is present even on high metal connectors in ISA prts _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

It did work, but for traces that are too difficult to reach I can't really do naything mechanically.
Is there any product that could give that extra needed to wipe all signs of corrosion? |

You could try electrical contact cleaner? Otherwise try to find a brush with long bristles and scrub at it. _________________ My collection |

I tried WD40 contact cleaner and it looks good.
I see that good old elbow grease is an evergreen
Electric brush with soft /medium bristles. Elbow grease is good but electricity is not bad either
Have a good w/e!! |
