In 2012, I was offered 2 DVK computers at a price of ~ $ 50. I refused icon_censored . Now such a computer costs ~ $ 500 and contains about 10 grams of gold.

Years ago I bought a chip on Ebay, several months passed by but the item did not arrive. Sadly I noticed that my paypal address was wrong, I had moved several weeks prior to the purchase and forgot to swap the address. Never recovered the chip, lost about $25.

I still cannot seem to find the same chip, I think it was some sort of Sparc, had gold arrows pointing to the corners.

I spent about $17 AUD on a Xeon 5063 on ebay, only to find it was a relasered 5060 and that the buyer protection had run out.

I haven't had any disastrous things happen to the CPU collection... yet Confused

But... I had one piece of hardware slip by me... For over the course of the last 4 years I have been looking for a very specific set of Corsair RAM. Specifically the Corsair XMS2 XPERT (DDR2) memory with the display modules.

I would check eBay every single day for these modules. I had saved searches for every possible keyword that they would get listed for, in addition to just checking every new listing for "xms2".

Well, one week I went on vacation to visit family and forgot to check eBay. Someone posted a brand new DDR2 kit at auction... and it sold for $17. Brick wall

I have not seen any modules sell since then.

For the record, I have one functioning stick of XPERT2 memory, but I had to buy an original XPERT kit (DDR memory. Not as rare, but still not easy to find) to get the display module.

I would pay pretty good money to get one more stick of this stuff, let alone a matched pair...

I'll check again, but maybe I have some of them. Maybe even ES and MS. 'cause yep, there is a LOT of mech sample and eng sample RAM from Corsair. Shocked

Please let me know! I might have some oddball ES stuff for a partial trade if interested.

Look likes this one. Appeared to be a 486 overdrive style ES cpu

I can't find any reference for "XPERT2" anywhere. Even some guys working at Corsair I asked can't remember a DDR2 XPERT module. Can you post a picture of your stick? That's really a very rare module.

About the XPERT line, I digged into my collection and found the three flavours : Retail, ES & MS (with a nice POS Sales Kit for demo). Can post some pictures of you want. Will check my spares box to see if I have something related to XPERT.

My mistake, they were "XMS2 XPERT", not XPERT2.

I made a thread in the WTB section of the forum with detailed part numbers. I'll grab a scan of my dead stick and post it there later today.

Ah! OK I see now. But not, I don’t have any XMS2 XPERT. I have many other ES/MS and standard XMS XPERT ES/MS, but no XMS2 XPERT

At the very beginning of chip collecting, far more than 10 years ago, I had no clue what ES means.
Luckily I got hands on two white Intel C4040 CPUs and short after sold one to Japan for $200.
Some weeks or months later I learnt about ES and remembered.
...
Searched for the photos I had taken and danggg - the one I sold was an ES. The one I kept wasn't.
