|

Figured I'd dip my toe in the water and ask here before listing a bunch of chips.
I got through the huge lot of chips. Sadly, due to a complete lack of any sensible packaging, most/all of the pinned CPUs are in rough shape.
The pin damage ranges from "not too bad" to "borderline unuseable/unsaveable".
I got a whole bunch of AMD K6-2/300AFR's (uhhhh... 57 of them...). Pins are rough. Any interest? Otherwise they are probably headed to scrap.
In addition, there are many Athlon64 X2's, Athlon II's, Phenom II's, P4's, etc. A lifetime supply of E6xxx, E7xxx core 2 chips lol.
There were also a few small surprises, but nothing incredible. Overall a kinda 'meh' lot. _________________ My collection |

ceramic packages its easier to straighten pins on, though maybe not worth it on a K6-2 300AFR as they pretty common (black print ones less common if ya have some of those)
pins on organic substrates like the Athlon64s etc are a pain and very often break off
Maybe the Phenoms are worth it if not bad, but the other? meh _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Some of the newer phenoms are saveable, and I intend to try to save those.
All of the 300AFR's are laser engraved, so no dice there lol.
I figured these would make good pieces to stick in a shadowbox with the pins hidden _________________ My collection |

Any engineering samples or Xeons? I wouldn't mind using a K6 for a die shot. I intend on using my school's microscopes to take some photos. _________________ My CPU List (Trades and For Sale) |

No ES (honestly, given the state of the chips, I'm GLAD there weren't any). Some prestonia Xeons and a few oddballs. I'll probably post some over the course of the week. _________________ My collection |

The worst part is this damage occurred completely during shipping. I found all the pins at the bottom of the ziplock bag that the chips were sent in... _________________ My collection |

That is damage from an apparent acid bath that loosened the pins. |

Seems inconsistent with the other chips I got. None of the 486's or Pentium chips had this same issue. If it was an acid bath, why leave all these pins and the heatspreader?
I have seen pins sheared off like this before (mostly on cyrix chips for some reason). They get bagged up with a bunch of heavy chips (P4's, Athlon64's, etc) and get obliterated when the contents shift/get pummeled by USPS. _________________ My collection |

Remove the rest of the pins and sell it as a rare LGA version |
