|
|
You may know, or not, that I've entered rarity values for all the cpus in the database on my site, x86-guide.com.
After long years of reflexion on how to improve it, and after reading this post : http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32447, I deicded to make a public google spreadsheet in order for collectors to give their opinion of the rarity of the chips.
So that, we can have better and accurate judgement, because not only based on my feeling but on those of many very experienced collectors.
Here it is : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lq36yIGy-5H-wMVoOzZHlM77v2o32g6ulGGdTdDV5Y4/edit?usp=sharing
There is a first sheet where I describe the meaning of the rarity values, with a scale from 1 to 6, and a sheet for the Core 2s (because of the topic mentionned above).
Depending on the success of this initiative, I will add sheets with other kind of chips (or not).
I added some examples for each rarity note in the first sheet. If you don't agree with those examples, no problem, we can discuss it there and find the best value together.
If you want to contribute, please use an empty column after mine and give rarity for all listed cpus you want.
I will then compute all the values with an average one and update my database with them.
Any comment or suggestion for improvement welcome.
Thanks to all who will participate. _________________ Register on x86-guide.net to manage and share your collection on-line !

I'll have my rankings posted shortly.
Keep in mind there are some rare s-specs of rather common chips as well. _________________ My collection |

Yes, I have it in mind, but it is already so difficult to rate all the models, if you add the Sspecs, it is even worst.
I don't have enough knowledge to do that.
I tried to do it for the variants (like new logo, old logo, no log for the 396s for example) but not for Sspecs.
Please note that they are some mistakes in my rating in the spreadsheet, which is direct extract of my database, and that I will correct later. _________________ Register on x86-guide.net to manage and share your collection on-line !

I'll also have my rankings posted shortly (at least for non-ES desktop LGAs). As a side note, my view reflects heavily to situation in Finland. _________________ 1242 x86 CPUs in my collection (week 2 2026). |
