https://www.ebay.com/itm/EXTREMELY-RARE-Intel-SLC32-Xeon-X5698-4-40Ghz-Dual-Core-12MB-L3-LGA1366-CPU/372659885001

Ahh... the ever-elusive X5698... Yep $1500 is a very good price for a dual-core chip from 2010

This looks like a mistake from seller in interpreting ES sign from the back of the CPU, as SX955 is not an engineering sample

To be fair, at least the starting price isn't something crazy like $500. Still a bit steep though.

An unremarkable LGA 775 sample is easily worth $999. Laughing

Not really a "stupid" auction, at least not like the others, but seriously, selling Windows ISOs? Not even disks, nor keys, just the .iso?
And people are actually buying them? Which actually makes this a clever auction, I am going to host some ISOs and sell them too Lol

It violates eBay's sales policy on digitally delivered goods, as the merchant neither owns the content, nor is authorised to sell it by the content owner. But it seems to have been up for a while despite that. There are lots of people on eBay who make money selling free GPL software which is legitimate as the license allows it.
