Here are some unusual ones
These are sets of 25 original MRAM (Magnetic RAM) made back in the 1980's.
They were fab'd by TRW in CMOS but I think they were probably being made for Honeywell (which was experimenting with MRAM back in the mid-1980s)
12 trays of these, 25 dies per tray
$10 each tray _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Wow, that already existed since 198x?
But they still have not revolutionized the computer memories... Ssd and Ram convergence is still yet to happen...
Let's take one tray please ! _________________ Stelo.xyz Museum (CPU Collection and more)

They didnt scale well at all, so took a long time to make it work at usable scales and power usage _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Yeah getting the density took a few decades. I think only recently they got a 256MB module working in a reasonable size. The only commercial product I know of so far is a hybrid drive, with spinning platters and a MRAM cache. |
